I knew this game wasnt going to go our way when Sharp did his best acting job.
Clear embelishment and it should have been called.
Blues cant play for 15 minutes and expect to win anything let alone knock out the defendng champs.
Played really well from the 2 minutes left in the second mark until the 7 minutes left in the game.
Duncan Keith is an all time ass hat.
Best of 3 Hope the blues show up to play tomorrow night. Clearly did not last night. |

Someone needs to pull Taresenko off to the side and give him a good talking to. Who does he think he is to be shooting the puck. Certainly he should be able to look around and find a group of Chicago players he can try and pass the puck through.
Never shoot in OT when you can make an extra pass.
Duncan Keith is simply Barret Jackman with talent. He can play for me anytime.
Memo to K. Shattenkirk: Great defense on Patrick Kane. Just like you draw it up in the room. Back away from him and give him all the time and space he needs. Well played.
Haven't we seen this movie before????
(All that aside, it's been a heckuva series.)

Last time I checked it takes 4 wins to eliminate a team not 2. |

Check out the TSN highlights, clearly a dirty play by Lapierre, if Sharp gets hurt on that play, Maxim is suspended several games.

Blues might be done but it will take two great games by the hawks to eliminate us.
Have to find a way to win tomorrow night. |

I'll be down there Friday. Honestly, I was hoping I wouldn't have to buy tickets to game 7, but it's looking that way. |

That has been the story of the series. Hawks could have swept the Blues by now, or Blues could have swept the Hawks by now. Every game has been down to the wire and could have gone either way. Story seems the same, first 2 games, Hawks went into a defensive shell and let St Loius floor the pedal to the metal. Last night the Blues got the Hawks on the ropes, went into a defensive shell and Hawks worked their way back to force OT.
Evenly matched series, should be a great best of 3 ahead |

Exactly a great series being ruined by the play of a few players and lots of your fellow fans.
You sir are classy. It would be great to talk hockey with you as you seem to understand the sport.
Every game has been closely contested. It sucks the Blues are missing their top center. Somehow. I do not see the Hawks doing as well if it. Toews gone and not Seabrook. But it would probably still be close.

Blues are not done. Anyone saying that needs their head examined. This is still a talented, feisty, well coached team that dominated the league until a late season injury riddled swoon.
EVERY single one of the first four games could have gone either way...and the next 2 (or more than likely 3) games will be no different.
The series won't be won because one team is clearly better and the loser of this series has no reason to hang their head. The winners will be because of a combination of bounces, timely goals (see Kane, see Tarasenko), tending, discipline. Also, whichever team figures out the others PK could play a role. Hawks played awesome last night, but took 5 penalties to the Blues 2, we can't afford that kind of disparity and expect to win.
I like the series has edge....Blues/Blackhawks is shaping up to be an incredible rivalry for the next few years as both teams are very young and have good prospects in the line.
I still think the Hawks are the (though slightly) better team because of their top-end talent. I don't think the Blues have quite the number of top end skill the Hawks do, but they are a great hockey team and if they beat the Blackhawks they are a serious threat to lift the Cup (though San Jose looks absolutely sensational right now). |

Hawks finished the year with Matt Carey playing in place of Toews, Kane injured, and their top prospect getting 3 games on the third line and still had a winning record in their last 10. I feel the biggest adaptation that has to be made is to tweak your game to play to existing strengths, not overcome the weakness of missing a Backes/Toews. Hawks rolled 4 hard working lines and went back to basics without their 2 superstars in the regular season, at times, the Blues showed that over the last 2 games (moreso in game 3 where they dominated). However the game plan seems to be more on weather the storm until backes can play again. IMO, that is like playing a defensive shell to preserve a lead. As seen in games 1,2, and 4, that leads to a goal against, and the series has not been tied. I think that Hawks are building confidence and if they get on a roll, their experience may carry them through to the second round. STL came out of the gate and got them on the ropes but took their foot off of Chicago's throat, now it will be hard fought for whichever team advances to finish the other one off. Call me a homer or whatever, but I think the Cup experience, low roster turnover, etc, puts that killer aspect more in Chicao'g wheelhouse than the Blues. Stranger things have happened, look at game 6 of the finals last year: 17 seconds, blink of an eye
This series is reminding me of the Hawks/Blues rivalry's of the 90s with the sutter twins, Cujo, etc against Eddie the eagle and Dirk graham |

Randall Ritchey: Blues Lose Game Four In OT
The Blues had the chance to take a strangle hold on the series tonight, but an overtime win by Chicago even the series at two games a piece. - Randall_Ritchey
Backes will not play again in this series. You're in Dreamland if you think he will. That is a concussion, plain and simple from all the symptoms he displayed, and one with loss of reality and loss of consciousness. No capable doctor in the world with any integrity would clear him to play within a week of suffering that kind of trauma. Stop hoping for him to come back, it will not happen.
As much as I dislike Backes as a player, I found him to be a very cordial and affable human being when I met him, and I wish him a speedy recovery with no complications. Having had severe concussions before, I understand the hell he's probably in right now and it's nothing I wish on anyone, regardless of how cheap a player I think he is. |
